The report of the committee formed for the determination, demarcation and mapping of the lake after the continuous initiative and efforts of the Gandaki state government was made public by Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung on Sunday. Similarly, the circumference of the lake has been maintained at 18 kilometers.

The state government has sent its representative Punya Prasad Poudel, former chairman of the District Development Committee, Kaski, to the Government of Nepal for the study. The committee has completed the work of determining and demarcating four forts of the lake by fixing scientific and multi-bases. On the basis of the report given by the committee, the meeting of the Council of Ministers on March 26, 2008 had decided to determine, demarcate and map the four forts of the lake. Earlier, the committee had submitted the report to Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Shivamaya Tumbahamphe and Secretary Teknarayan Pandey. On the same day, the Chief Minister handed over the report to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for decision by the Federal Council of Ministers.

The Chief Minister informed that the area has been established through scientific research.

This is the demarcation of four forts

Four forts of the lake have been established in the area of 'Damside' in the east, Morebgarh in the west, Damkilo between Khapaundi-Chankhapur in the north and Chisapani Rani Forest in the south.
In the lower coastal area of the lake (Damside, Raniwan, Gaurighat, Lakeside, Gairako Chautara, Sedi, Khapaundi, Lamidanda, Anadu and other areas) the maximum water level of the rainy season is considered as the lake boundary and towards the mouth of Fewatal The demarcation of the lake has been established by covering the southern part of the hill and covering the swampy area to the east. Accordingly, the area of the lake is 5.762 square kilometers (11,255 ropanis, 11 annas and 1 paisa), said the Chief Minister.

The Committee shall make necessary suggestions regarding the actions to be taken by the concerned bodies for the implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal dated 2077-04-05 regarding the protection of the Fewatal.

"Not only the country but also the planet was during a state of pain when it had been exposed to natural and human encroachments day by day. He said that there was no doubt that the protection and promotion of Fewatal was indispensable as it was a center of attraction not only for the life of the people of Pokhara but also for the people of Nepal and the world.

the state government did not consider the issue of Fewatal as very sensitive, but gave priority to it, due to which it has succeeded in carrying out historic tasks such as demarcation, demarcation and mapping.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Man Bahadur GC said that more work would be done as per the demarcation done by the committee and the decision taken by the government. He said that the cost of land compensation would be collected within the criteria of demarcation, demarcation and mapping of charkilla after completion of demarcation and demarcation. He informed that a decision will be taken on how to beautify and conserve the lake after the completion of all these works.

According to a survey conducted by India in 2018, no demarcation was found

Khim Lal Gautam of the Survey Office Kaski, who is also the member secretary of the committee, said that they did not find the basis for demarcating the area of 10 sq km mentioned in the report of Nepal-India Cooperation Mission-2018 during the study. According to the report of the Sahayog Mission, the area of the lake is more than 10 square kilometers, but that area has never been in the history.

Gautam said that according to the Survey of India in history, the area was never in the report. According to the map, it is 4.39 sq km. Only 10 categories are mentioned in the report. No document can confirm that.

Punya Prasad Poudel, coordinator of the committee, said that they could not find the basis on which the map was made at that time. According to the survey of that time, it is impossible to estimate that if more than 9 sq km or 22,000 ropanis is taken as the basis, it will reach the top of the border.
