The tournament organizers said in a statement on Saturday that former West Indies international Dwayne Smith will depart for the Naypyidh Gladiators in the upcoming Twenty20 Everest Premier League.


The veteran all-rounder has represented the West Indies in all three formats of the game and is known for his aggressive batting, moderate pace and athletics on the field.

Smith played for the Mumbai Indians during the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008 before representing the Deccan Chargers in the following edition. He rejoined Mumbai Indians in 2012 before being bought by Chennai Super Kings in 2014. The all-rounder played for Islamabad United in the 2016 season of the Pakistan Super League and was retained the following season.

The Barbadian, who offered his trade with New South Wales for the 2009–10 Twenty20 Big Bash in Australia, has also played three seasons for English County, Sussex.

The owner of the Gladiators, Saket Sanghai, was included in his crew in addition to Smith. There is a lot to learn from him and I am sure his inclusion in the side will do wonders for Nepali cricket."
